The Malton and District Flower Club was founded in 1965. We should have celebrated our Emerald Anniversary last year, but due to the pandemic that was not possible. We hope to celebrate it this year and we will start with our ”Practice Class at Home”. We always hold a Practice Class in April, so we have asked our members to do a design depicting our Emerald Anniversary, take a photo and these photos will be displayed at the first meeting we have together. We are hoping this will be on the 29th June 2021 with a demonstration by Derek Armstrong. What an exciting way to restart our in-person meetings! An anniversary lunch was planned for our Christmas meeting last year, so we are hoping that will take place this year.
During lockdown we have stayed in touch with our members via emails and phone calls. Christmas cards were also sent out. £500 was raised in donations to the NHS by our club, being proceeds from the sale to members of wreath-making materials.
