Knaresborough Flower Club (North East Area) celebrated their 50th Anniversary on June 19th 2024 with a visit to Allerton Castle. Honoured guests were Sheila Drybrough (North East Area Chair), Ann Simpson (North East Area Secretary) and Avril McDonald (Founder Member) together with 23 members. Delicious cake (see below) - made by our Chair Lesley Dalton - was enjoyed by all and accompanied by a hot beverage and non-alcoholic bubbles. We all dressed to impress, including wearing hats and fascinators, which was a sight to behold! The wonderful afternoon culminated with a tour of the castle conducted by a riveting guide.

Below: A team of 6 have planned and worked on the design for the flowers round the Market Cross in Knaresborough. We put it there on May 4th ready for the Coronation on the 6th May.
A lot of the public watching made some very complimentary comments. It has taken over 100 hours to execute and install and we're thrilled with the result.

Knaresborough Flower Club report 2023 We have had an interesting year with all that has gone on in the country and being able to get back to meeting in person again. We had a beautiful afternoon to see the snowdrops at Goldsborough Hall followed by tea and scones, which were delicious. We plan this year to do flowers round the Market Cross in Knaresborough to help with the Coronation celebrations in the town. We have a lovely, varied programme and outings planned and would welcome any visitors to the club. Wishing you all Friendship through Flowers. Lesley Dalton Chair Knaresborough Flower Club
Knaresborough Flower Club also has a presence each year at the prestigious Great Yorkshire Show where the Club decorates the Country Landowners' Association tent.
These lovely arrangements were created by Knaresborough to go on display in local shops to advertise the Club.
