Filey Flower Club celebrated its 55th year in 2023. As part of our programme our President and vice Chair did a demonstration for our members.
We have a well supported club of around 80 members and we have a lot of guests who visit too. Our programme secretary works extremely hard to offer new and experienced demonstrators each year. We normally enjoy a lunch in February and a garden trip in the summer. We are very lucky to have members who are very talented and knowledgeable who assist and demonstrate for us. We support our local community by doing flower festivals in churches in the area throughout the year. We decorated the band stand for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Our committee participate in the lonely bouquet in May. Filey Flower club meets normally on the 2nd Wednesday of the month between October and July. We meet at the Evron Centre John St Filey. Our demonstrator starts at 7.30 pm and finishes around 9 pm. Find us on Facebook and Instagram. New members are always welcome at our friendly club
Fishmas 2024
(yes you read that correctly) - Filey celebrates the "Fishtive" season with a tree made of lobster pots and other fishy paraphernalia. Members of the Club helped decorate the "tree", and nearby bollards and seal sculpture... Click on each image to enlarge it. Starting early....Members of the Club spent time in a local Junior School arranging flowers in jam jars. The results looked rather fun!
