Ilkley Flower Club is a very friendly thriving club with approximately 55 members. Our meetings consist of a mixture of demonstrations, workshops and practice nights with lots of social interaction as well. The club also participates in North East Area events such as Harrogate Spring and Autumn Show and Flower festivals held throughout the Area. Many of our members also compete in competitions with a lot of success.
Throughout the last difficult 15 months Ilkley Flower Club has continued to provide demonstrations firstly held in members gardens with a small audience with filming also via Facebook. As the weather conditions deteriorated then the demonstrations were held at the demonstrator's home and filmed and aired on a closed Facebook page accessible by subscription to anyone who wished to join – members of Ilkley Flower Club who had paid their yearly subscription could view for free. We also kept our members up to date with newsletters and by email or phone. We are hoping to meet back at the Clarke Foley Centre at our July meeting with a social event to encourage our members to start meeting in person again. We have a full programme planned for the next 18 months or so.
