With currently 50 members, we meet in the afternoon at 1.30 pm on the third Thursday of the month in East Keswick Village Hall, where we enjoy a varied programme throughout the year. The Hall is fully accessible for those of limited mobility and parking is available.
The Club welcomes new members, guests and visitors to our demonstrations, although some events are for members only. These include a Winter and Summer lunch. We have several outings during the year which are always well subscribed and great fun. We have two ticketed events during the year, these being our Afternoon Tea in August and our ever popular Christmas Demonstration. At all demonstrations participants are encouraged to buy a raffle ticket so they may be the lucky recipient of the wonderful arrangements created by the NAFAS qualified demonstrators. At the end of the afternoon, there is a chance to have a cup of tea and socialise. No experience is necessary to become a member. Just come along and be entertained, gaining useful tips for not only flower design but gardening as well.
At the August meeting of East Keswick (a demonstration by Sue Maddocks attended by Area Chairman Rita Braithwaite) a presentation was made to member Glenys Gibson who will be 100 at the end of this year. During the 1970s she attended Leeds Flower Club during the chairmanship of George Carter but now attends East Keswick. Pictured on the left is Glenys with her design.
